The deity of Maa Amba Bhavani has been worshipped by the Parmar rulers and their family members from the time of the great emperor Vikramaditya and Raja Bhoj .
Jasraj Parmar who built the Ambaji temple at Ambaji was also an eminent ruler of the Parmar dynasty.
H.H Maharana Bhavani Singhji was also one of the great devotees of Ma Amba Bhavani.
The diety is about 2063 years old and has been the personal puja ( worship) of the family. It went with the rulers from place to place from Ujjain it went to Nagar Thatta in Sindh and after the Arab conquest of Sindh the Parmars established their capital at Chandrawati (near Abu Road)
In the 13th century after the conquest of Allahhudin Khilji of Chandrawati the capital was shifted to Tarsang and about 400 years ago it came to Danta and was established at the old palace .The murti (idol) of Ma Amba Bhavani as well as the
Shri Yantra have been there and the puja has been done regularly since.
Now it has been decided that the benefit of darshan should be for all and hence a public charitable trust has been formed for the benefit of public.
The temple has been open for all devotees for the first time ever by H.H Maharana Mahipendra Singhji on Chaitrya Sud 1st (6th April 2008).
